TRNSYS is a graphical software environment used to simulate the behavior of transient systems. While the majority of large-scale simulations concentrate on assessing the efficiency of thermal and electrical systems, TRNSYS can equally be used to model other complex systems such as traffic flows or biological processes.

Description:

TRNSYS has 2 different sections. It is the first (kernel name) engine that reads as well as processes the input file, resolves the system repeatedly, determines the component’s convergence and system variables. The kernel also offers services such as the determination of thermophysical properties, reverse matrix, linear regression, and external data file interactivity.

The second section of TRNSYS is a detailed library, each of which models the system’s output. The regular library consists of approximately 150 models of pumps, wind turbines, energy generators, and economically efficient climate data processors. Models are structured so that users can adjust or write their own existing components and extend the environment’s capabilities.
